Addison elected NPP’s 2016 parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle

Popular lawyer Phillip Addison has emerged victorious in the parliamentary primary rerun of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) conducted on Staurday, February 27 in the Klottey Korle Constituency.

He was in Saturday’s race with former constituency chairman, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey.

Mr Addison, popularly called the Pink Sheet Man, polled 396 votes representing 51.9 per cent to beat Mr Nortey, who polled 367 votes representing 48.1 per cent. A total of 765 delegates cast their ballots at the NPP headquarters.

The vitory makes Mr Addison NPP’s 2016 parliamentary candidate for the Constituency, which is currently held by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr Addison, who was the lead counsel for the three petitioners in the 2013 landmark court action over the last presidential elections, expressed satisfaction with the turn of polls.

“I have won. I am satisfied with it,” he told journalists.
