Black Stars defender Kasim Nuhu Adams has made a loan switch from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim to Fortuna Dusseldorf in the German Bundes Liga.
Adams, who featured for Ghana at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, is expected to begin training on Thursday.
He joins a club that already has three Ghanaian players – Bernard Tekpetey, Nana Opoku Ampomah and Kelvin Ofori.
Adams has been handed the Number 4 shirt at Fortuna.
His first season in the Bundes Liga was plagued with injuries as he made only 13 appearances for Hoffenheim.
“I am very happy to be with Fortuna [Dusseldorf] now,” the former Young Boys centre back said, however.
Fortuna ended the 2018/19 season in 10th, just blow Hoffenheim.
“I will do my best to help the team in every training session and match. It will be important from the beginning that we win games and score points to get closer to our goal of [avoiding] relegation bit by bit.”
The Flingeraner begin this year’s campaign on Saturday, August 17 away to Werder Bremen. But before that they will begin the domestic season with a first round DFB Cup game against FC 08 Villingen.
A board member of the club, Lutz Pfannenstiel, was of full praise for the Ghanaian defender.
“Kasim Adams is a centre back with strong physical presence and header, which I know of very well through my time in Hoffenheim.
“He was one of the best defensive players at this year’s Africa Cup.”
