A month or two more of campaigning would have made me president – Hassan Ayariga

Presidential candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC) in the December 2012 Elections Hassan Ayariga has said that had he “one or two more months” of campaigning, he would have been president-elect waiting to be sworn into office on January 7, 2013.

He intimated that his ambitions of becoming president is still alive and he is sure of becoming president of Ghana one day.

Hassan Ayariga made these remarks while answering questions from journalists at a brief programme to concede defeat in the Presidential Elections.

According to him, he had little time to campaign across the country because his party went to Congress later than scheduled.

He also noted that just when Ghanaians were being “ayarigated” by his messages, campaigns were being wrapped up.

He therefore said had he one or two months more, he would have won many voters to his camp.

He, however, said he will continue to “ayarigate Ghanaians.”

“Ghanaians have seen the youthfulness I brought into politics.”

He added that political leaders should buy into his idea of inclusiveness so that there will not be a yearning to be in power “at all cost.”

He expressed regret of some executive members of the PNC mounting platforms to campaign for other presidential candidates, saying that also contributed to his failure to win the elections.
