Nana Addo is expected to boost the campaign of NPP’s candidate, Thomas Doanab, in order to retain the seat for the party.
The seat became vacant after Member of Parliament Robert Nachinab Mosore was enskinned Paramount Chief of Tongo.
He won the seat for the first time for his party after the ruling National Democratic Congress’ John Akologo Tia had occupied it since 1993.
Mr Doanab will be given a stiff challenge by Former Ghana Olympic Committee Chairman Benson Tongo Baba, NDC’s candidate, who had on three previous occasions attempted leading the party in the constituency.
He has had the Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, leading his campaign.
Meanwhile, the Convention People’s Party (CPP) and the People’s National Convention (PNC) have fielded a single candidate, Dr Michael Namalteng, for the election on Tuesday while Ghana’s second largest opposition party, Progressive People’s Party (PPP), are chasing a Holy Grail of a parliamentarian.
