Their reassignment from their current duty posts takes effect from February 6, a document signed by the IGP stated. Per the list, most of the officers transferred are from the police headquarters in Accra. The IGP had earlier in the year reassigned DCOP Francis Ebenezer Doku and his staff officer from the Volta Regional Police Command to the police headquarters and the Gambaga District Police Command respectively.

This shakeup comes at a time when a coalition of political parties led by the People’s National Convention’s (PNC) Benard Monah is calling for the resignation of the IGP over allegations that his negligence of duty resulted in the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence  last week.
