Five thousand accounting personnel in state-owned enterprises and agencies in the public sector are undergoing training for best accounting practices.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG) says the move is critical to improving the financial reporting decisions of practicing accountants.
The ongoing training will continue till the end of the year.
Chief Executive Officer of ICAG, Paul Kwasi Agyemang, made this known at a media engagement as part of a week-long activities to celebrate its annual conference.
The 2021 Accountants Conference, under the theme “Business continuity and sustainable development, the role of technology”, is scheduled for two days.
The objective is to improve the agencies to make impactful decisions
Mr. Agyemang said the Association is deliberating on the use of technology to improve on its work.
The institute will meanwhile hold its annual general meeting on Friday.
