To that end, he said the government is fully supporting the 3FM tour du Ghana cycling event.
He said during the opening ceremony of the 3FM tour du Ghana on Saturday April 24.
He said he was at the event to “Just to come support Media General in this event. The government is committed to promoting lesser known sports.”
Head of 3FM Mr Sola Aklamati, has said the future of cycling in Ghana is bright.
He said in his opening remarks that cycling promotes jobs and health.
The 3FM tour du Ghana starts today Saturday, 24th April with over 100 cyclists expected to compete over a distance of 100Km.
The 3FM drive show held a series of activities with a some cyclists at the mini event.
The prelude to the main show attracted a number of cyclists in Accra to the junction Mall in Sakumono. The event was tied into 3FM’s afternoon drive show hosted by Giovani Caleb and offered an opportunity to the gathered cyclists in a time trial competition, where the cyclists negotiated an obstacle course in record time.
Isaac finished first in a time of 20 seconds, Martin came in second with 24 seconds and Enoch placed third in 34 seconds.

The 3FM tour du Ghana is sponsored by Verna mineral water, McBerry bicuits, Oba Spaghetti, Super Yogo and Prudential Life Insurance, official life insurers of all registered cyclists. It is supported by Volta Hotel, Dodi World and Decathlon who are giving away prizes for the cyclists.
Charles Derry, the Decathlon cycling official says Decathlon are dedicated to helping local cyclists achieve their dreams.
There was time for musicians who passed through the afternoon drive show – Article Wan, Amerado and Ephraim Music to show their cycling skills as well.
Cyclists will travel the distance of over 100 Km from Ashaiman in Accra to the Akosombo township.
