2022 Club World Cup: Al Ahly make semis, Wydad crash out

Egyptian side Al Ahly continued their fine form in Morocco by beating Seattle Sounders in round two of the 2022 Club World Cup.

Koller’s men had to wait 88 minutes to break the deadlock after both teams struggled to find the net.

Midfielder Afsha got the job done, sealing a semi final place for his team.

Elsewhere, Wydad Casablanca’s journey came to an end following a defeat to Al Hilal on penalties.

Defender El Amloud gave the Moroccan side the lead minutes before the hour mark but Mohammed Kanno’s penalty forced extra time.

With no goals in thirty minutes, the game had to go to penalties where Al Hilal scored all five penalties whilst Wydad missed one.

Al Ahly will face the mighty Real Madrid in the semi finals on Wednesday whilst Al Hilal lock horns with Flamengo a day before.
