Eight people including two pregnant women and two babies lost their lives in a gruesome motor crash at Atebubu in the Brong Ahafo Region on Monday.
The crash involved two vehicles in a head-on collision on the Atebubu-Mampong highway when an Opel Astra burst its tyre and run into the other.
The Atebubu District Police commander Chief Superintendent Joseph Atsu Dzineku confirmed the incident in an interview with Accra-based Joy FM.
According to him, the accident occurred at a popular spot known as Dzato Zongo.
The body of the deceased persons have since been deposited at the morgue while four others who sustained injuries have been receiving treatment at the Atebubu Government Hospital.
Its barely half of the year and many lives have been lost in accidents.
