2 escape accident in A/R

Two people narrowly escaped death Tuesday morning when an excavator truck failed its break and crashed into a food joint at Akurem, a suburb of Kumasi.

The vehicle also collided with a Kia Picanto and a motorbike, parked by the road side.

The excavator truck with no registration number is said to have come from Buokrom heading towards Sawaba where veered off its lane and crashed into a food joint at Akurem.

Two persons were inside the food joint when the vehicle rammed into it but fortunately for them, they escaped unhurt.

The excavator also crashed into a parked Kia Picanto with registration number GN 834 – 10, damaging its bonnet.

Another motorbike with registration number M-11 AS 1276 also parked by the road side was not spared by the excavator.

Though no casualty was recorded, the driver of the excavator was sent to the Asawasi police station for damage caused to the food joint, Kia picanto, and the motorbike.
