Some irate youth suspected to be Kandahar Boys of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Monday afternoon stormed the Tamale Teaching Hospital and chased out the Chief Executive officer, Dr David Zaawumya Kolbila.
They are said to have driven him out of his office and locked it up.
A document sighted by 3news.com accuses the CEO, Dr Kolbila, of what “management crises”, saying he “is virtually fighting every Director in the hospital”.
The group is also accusing the CEO of constantly threatening staff of the Hospital.
The group has vowed not to hand over the keys to anybody unless the CEO is dismissed, 3news.com gathered.
According to the group, their actions are motivated by President Akufo-Addo’s calls on Ghanaians to be citizens and not spectators, thus, their resolve to intervene to prevent the hospital from “further deteriorating”.
Their document in parts also cites the CEO for some procurement infractions and diversion of medical supplies and consumables to his private clinic.
Mr Kolbila has not yet responded to the allegations levelled against him but our reporters on the ground say police have taken over the police and restored it to calm.
