One of Ghana’s leading banks, Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), has unveiled UMB Capital to provide management and consultancy services aimed at solidifying the bank’s position in investment management.
The UMB Capital will oversee the operations of four subsidiaries – UMB Investment Holdings Limited, UMB Stockbrokers Limited, Strategic Debt Solutions Limited and Merban Properties Limited.
This move forms part of the bank’s commitment to provide better and innovative products and services to its clientele.
The Bank explained it has listened to the opinions and complaints from its clientele to improve its experiences on the financial landscape, hence the new introduction.
At the launch, Board Chairman of UMB Capital, Mrs Grace Amey-Obeng reveal the company in the coming months will unveil products that meet the needs and wants of its clientele in a very convenient ways.
“We intend only to deliver superior value service through the provision of innovative and diverse financial management solutions that exceed the expectations of our stakeholders,” she said
She indicated that the company’s business operations would be to focus on the customer, by maintaining effective customer relations with innovation being its hallmark.
Intricacies of UMB Capital
The UMB Capital currently oversees the operations of the UMB Investment Holdings Limited, UMB Stockholders Limited, the Strategic Debt Solutions Limited and the Merban Properties Limited, which hitherto were subsidiaries of the Universal Merchant Bank Limited.
UMB Capital is to continuously create and deliver value through the provision of innovative and diverse investment financial management solutions that exceed the expectations of the company’s stakeholders.
The UMB Investment Holdings Limited is licensed and regulated by Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) under the Securities Industry Law (PNDC Law 333) as an investment Advisor, and the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NRPA) as a Pensions Fund Manager.
UMB Stockbrokers Limited (UMBSL), which is a licensed dealing member of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE), was established in 1975 and has been a pioneer dealer on the GSE.
Merban Properties Limited provides brokerage, property management and valuation and advisory services in the properties space, whereas the Strategic Debt Solutions Limited provides debt recovery for financial institutions and financial re-structuring services of distressed companies.
