TV3 Network Ghana Limited emerged tops in nationwide television coverage on December 7, 2016, when Ghanaians went to the polls to elect a president and 275 members of parliament (MPs).
Garnering 20 per cent of the average audience share, TV3 beat UTV and Adom TV to second and third respectively, according to a GeoPoll survey.
The major contributory factor was the election programmes aired on the election day, researchers suggested.
Election Command Center and News 360 were the two programmes telecast on the election day and they garnered an average of over three million impressions, according to the poll.
Among the television stations considered for the poll are GTV, GH One, Metro TV, Viasat One, UTV and Adom TV.
Social media also went abuzz with #ElectionCommand jumping to the top of Ghana’s Twitter trends on the D-day.
Not even an ancillary hashtag, #ElectionCommandCenter, could be suppressed on Twittersphere as it made it to the top.
