The fountain at the Rattray Park in the Ashanti Region capital city of Kumasi is back to function after months following the missing of its USB drive. The fountain, which forms splashes in a form of a dancing figure, was part of the siting of the controversial $4.4 million Park under former Kumasi mayor Kojo Bonsu. The fountain is now being operated manually by an IT worker of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA). He has since changed the computer language of the fountain from Chinese to English. KMA’s Public Relations Officer Godwin Okumah Nyame told Media Gneral’s Antwi Boasiako, who is with Kumasi-based Akoma FM that the manager and some other workers at the Park were interdicted after the loss of the USB drive. He said one of the IT workers, Simon Raad, who was later employed by the Assembly, was able to change the language of the computer to make it possible for the operation of the fountain. Mr Okumah Nyame said the fountain operates with two systems, automated and manual systems, and said once Mr Raad was able to change the language they have now been able to use the manual system. He, therefore, called on the general public to patronize the facility as the major attraction there is now operational. He admitted the dysfunction of the fountain massively affected the patronage of the facility. By Kwadwo Antwi Boasiako ]]>
