Ghana’s former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, with less than two months to this year’s presidential election has taken a swipe at the National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying they are only changing “their own lives”.

The former first lady said this in Accra Thursday as the National Democratic Party (NDP) outdoored its vice presidential nominee.

She urged the electorates to give the party the mandate to govern the country to contribute to its development, noting they are totally different from those claiming to be changing lives.

“We are not like those people who choose to politicise everything, yet they say they are transforming and changing lives. Yes they are transforming and changing lives; their own lives,” she said.

She asked Ghanaians not to let their fear and anxiety hold them back from contributing their bit to the development of the nation.

She explained that an NDP government will help end the marginalisation of the underprivileged in the country

The flagbearer of the NDP indicated that the party believes in the people of Ghana and will always put their interest first and won’t behave like other parties.

Unveiling Kojo Mensah Sosu as her running mate, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings described him as an embodiment of  the country’s youthful with a lot of experience in the area of employment, an expertise she said will be brought to bear on an NDP government to solve the unemployment challenges.

A father of five, Mr Sosu is an employer to about one thousand Ghanaian youth.
