GFA President Kwasi Nyantakyi is set to leave post in 2019[/caption] New Edubiase United President Yakubu Abdul Salam has debunked a statement attributed to him that Kurt Okraku does not have the potential to become GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi’s successor. “Kurt Okraku has not reached the level of becoming the president of Ghana Football Association so he should stop bragging on various radio stations and television stations that it is his time to be the president,” Yakubu Abdul Salam is quoted as saying. But he has cleared the airwaves, saying he has a good relationship with Kurt Okraku but only thinks George Afriyie is the right person after Kwesi Nyantakyi. He told Frank Osei-Wusu of Onua FM. “I knew Kurt Okraku before he formed Dreams FC. I have no problem with him. I only think that George Afriyie is the person for the job and I have given my support to him. “His abilities and attitude proves to me that he is the best person to replace Mr. Nyantakyi. I think this is the time for George Afriyie.” Yakubu Mohammed is sure that his candidate will contest the presidency in 2019. “There is no doubt that George Afriyie will contest. I am 100 percent sure that the [GFA] Vice President will contest. Let’s pray for him so that the when the time [comes] he will have strength.” Neither George Afriyie nor Kurt Okraku has declared intention to contest for the FA presidency position.
