Egypt's Mo Salah adjudged Africa's best by BBC

He beat club mate Sadio Mane of Senegal to the prize, which was revealed live on radio and television on Monday. Five players including 2015 African Footballer of the Year Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon had been shortlisted for the award. But the Egyptian’s exploits for both the Pharaohs and the Reds – and previously for AS Roma – put him ahead of the rest. According to BBC, this year’s contest received the highest number of votes from fans across the world. Salah becomes the third Egyptian after Mohamed Barakat and Mohamed Aboutrika to win the coveted prize.
