Winners of 3Music Awards to receive gold-plated plagues Saturday

Award winners at the maiden edition of 3Music Awards scheduled for Saturday, March 24 at the Fantasy Dome the Accra International Trades Fair Centre will each receive a gold-plated plague as part of their prize package. The event, which will be graced by top rated music stars, will go down in Ghana’s entertainment history as the first to introduce a gold-plated plague for award winners. Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, R2Bees, King Promise and MzVee, Kidi among other artistes are billed to perform. The awards night will be televised live on TV3, and all Media General platforms on air and online. “There are a lot of surprises and exciting moments to look out for on the night,” Manager Director of the 3Music Networks, Sadiq Abdulai Abu stated on TV3 Midday Live. The 3Music Awards which have 21 categories in total seek to award outstanding music and personalities under the calendar year starting October, 2016 to October, 2017. It has distinct categories, including the Fan Army of the year, which seeks to award fans of a particular artiste and the Best Social Media Star which is aimed at the artiste with the most presence and influence on social media. For the Song of the Year category, the artiste of that song which wins, the producer, the sound engineer and song writer will all receive separate plaques for their various roles.“The whole idea is to recognize the people who played a role in the music value change, this are people who play a role in creating and birthing the song, and that includes the Artiste, song writer, producer, and the sound engineer or mixer,” Sadiq said. The maiden edition marks the beginning of an exciting journey which promises to  be an annual awards ceremony dedicated to celebrating achievements in Hip life/Hip-hop, Highlife, Afrobeats, Reggae/Dancehall, Gospel, Best use of social media and the best talent fan army in Ghana.
