Sound engineer Kaywa known in real life as David Kofi Kyei has stated emphatically that unlike some of his colleagues in the showbiz industry, he doesn’t take advice from people on social media. The “Highly Spiritual” man speaking on the maiden edition of “Famous Friday” on 3FM’s drive show, Easy Stream, the sound engineer said he prefers to take advice from people who are already in the showbiz industry whose opinions he can trust. Reacting to critics on social media that one of his signees, Kurl Songx has ridden on the back of collaborations to make hits, Kaywa said most of the people who criticize, do so without knowledge about music or how show business works. “I don’t do social media that often. I believe when you have a plan or a package, you follow your plan. I don’t listen to what people are saying, I only listen to the industry players. Somebody somewhere will just conjure up something and raise insults on you but I do not listen to them”. Kaywa’s signee, and 2016 MTN Hitmaker Winner, Kurl Songx has been under heavy criticism for making hits only through collaborations. But Kaywa, who is in charge of Highly Spiritual Music, the management under which Kurl Songx works, is asking Ghanaians to watch out for some new releases from the “Jennifer Lomotey” crooner. 3FM’s Famous Friday is on the last Friday of every month between 4pm-6pm is designed to bring famous people from different professional backgrounds in order to test their knowledge on other areas aside their known profession.
