General Marcus' £10,000 expenditure on new album in Ghana

General Marcus made waves in the ’90s[/caption] Ghanaian-born UK- based musician General Marcus has expressed disappointment in some DJs who took his £10,000 with the hope that his new album will be promoted very well. He was speaking to Onua FM’s Christian Agyei Frimpong on a new segment on Anigye Mmre dubbed ‘Wo Hy3 he’ literally translated ‘Where are you?’. The new segment seeks to interview persons within the entertainment industry who are currently not active in the industry. General Marcus became a household name in the mid-90s with reggae dancehall. Some of his hit songs include Medi Woakyi Daa, Bring Your Loving Come, Sa Ne Ni Abgaa among others. General Marcus disclosed that when he returned to Ghana in the year 2006 after staying in UK for some time, he decided to release a new album since he thought he has the fan base already. But General Marcus said those he was dealing with when he arrived in Ghana had series of meetings with him on countless occasions and told him the industry has changed ever since he left Ghana so he had to invest about £10,000. “Part of the money went into the recording of the music, duplication of cassettes, CDs, posters etc but all of these never yielded any results,” General Marcus remembered in pain. Even though, he has not quit music completely, he promised his fans to expect something big from him and collaborate with the likes of Kwabena Kwabena, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie and Samini. He added that all these artistes are doing extremely well but criticized Ghanaian artistes for their inability to unite.
