Ghanaian rapper EL is tipping the late dancehall artiste Ebony Reigns to win ultimate musical award at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards that is set to take place on Saturday, April 14. With six nominations, Ebony, who died in a car crash on February 8 this year, while returning from Sunyani to Accra, has been tipped by many to win the Artiste of the Year award. She is up against Joe Mettle,  Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy. Commenting on who is likely to pick the covetous award, EL who in 2016 took the Artiste of the Year Award said Ebony deserves to grab the title this year considering the kind of work she did in the year under review. So for me, for EL it’s Ebony,” she said on TV3’s New Day magazine show on Tuesday.Ebony who was buried on March 24 at the Osu Cemetery in Accra was released back-to-back hit songs that became the favourites of many and dominated airplay. She is noted for popular songs like Sponsor, Kube and Maame Hw3. Though EL said all those nominated for the Artiste of the Year Award deserve to win it, Ebony stands tall. “Everybody out there deserves to be out there. Everybody on the list has worked so hard under the year under review and I wish everybody the best,” he said. EL explained he missed out of this year’s nominations because he did not participate in the industry under the year of review. “I cannot be a part of it because under the year of review, I did not actually participate in the industry that much but I am hoping next year we make something happen,” he said. The rapper currently has a new song out titled ‘overdose’. Watch  EL’s interview on New Day. https://youtu.be/wudQ6nQx_04 By 3news.com| Ghana                       ]]>
