One of the most vibrant volunteer groups in the 2016 NPP campaign, Professionals for Change has taken Nana Akufo-Addo’s message of hope to Zongo communities.
The group says its members are committed to going into the various Zongos to sell their candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo to the electorates, according to leading members of the Group.
To make this objective a reality, Professionals for Change have formed a sub group, Zongo Ladies for Nana to help spearhead their efforts in the various Zongo Communities.
Zongo Ladies for Nana is made up of young NPP ladies who live in Zongo Communities and who will now serve as party ambassadors in their communities by explaining party policies and programmes to people in the Zongos.
Since its creation a few months ago, the Zongo group has collaborated with its mother group, Professionals for Change to storm various Zongos in Greater Accra, and shared with residents the NPP’s vision for Zongo communities like Zongo Development fund, Vocational training Programs etc.
Some of the Communities visited so far include Sukura, Agbogbloshie, Accra New Town, Madina Zongo, Ashaiman Zongo, Afienya Zongo among others.
Professionals for Change is made up of professionals from all walks of life who have dedicated their time and resources to support the NPP’s campaign and work for Change. Since its creation in March, 2016, the group has undertaken several outreach programmes, reaching out to the poor and marginalized, and providing support to the needy in the Greater Accra, Central, Eastern, Brong Ahafo, Ashanti and Volta regions of Ghana. Drivers for Change, Kayaye for Change are other sub-groups and initiatives of the group.
Buoyed by the success of its outreach activities and goodwill generated, the group considers its patriotic duty, where
feasible, to support other volunteer groups that share a common vision of arresting it described as the decline of the economy brought about by “rampant corruption, thievery, incompetence and insensitivity of the Mahama administration”.
To this end, the group has provided financial and in kind assistance to Loyal Ladies, Mums4change, Youth4Change and Volta4Change, Action Club of Hohoe etc.
With barely two months to the elections, the group said it has no intention of slowing down in its determination to assist in liberating Ghana from the “tyranny of the Mahama/Amissah-Arthur administration and replace them with the visionary and competent leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo and Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia.”
