Prez Mahama donates cycles to PLWDs at NDC Braille manifesto launch

President John Dramani Mahama has donated demonstration models of motorised tricycles to some persons with disability at the launch of the Braille version of the 2016 NDC Manifesto at the forecourt of the State House in Accra.

Under ‘Consolidating Social Protection’ section of the manifesto, President Mahama made a commitment to improve the mobility of the physically challenged and introduce them to economic activities using motorised tricycles.

President Mahama about a month ago, precisely September 17, officially launched his party’s 2016 manifesto in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region without a Braille version for the visually impaired.

The Braille version is designed to make the NDC manifesto accessible to the visually impaired and reflect the commitment of the NDC and President Mahama to expand interventions and introduce additional social protection initiatives to benefit the vulnerable.

The President interacted with some PLWDs during Monday’s launch, which saw hundreds of them present.
