ACP Mrs. Addo-Danquah says the leaked tape was doctored and calculated to soil her reputation.[/caption] Deputy Communications Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Fred Agbenyo, has proposed a non-partisan investigations into conversation captured on a leaked tape between a musician and staunch member of the ruling New Patriotic Party, A Plus, and Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigations Department ACP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah. Mr. Agbenyo suggested, “can we get Parliament to get into this issue? Get a partisan committee into the issue. Get private persons. Get one or two person from the clergy. Get one or two journalists on board to investigate the issue and get us the facts and if there is any wrong doing, people should be punished”. A-Plus known in private life as Kwame Asare Obeng is challenging the Deputy Director of the Police CID to provide evidence to her claim that the audio has been doctored. The CID last week described as baseless, corruption allegation made by A Plus against the two deputy Chiefs of Staff, Francis Asenso-Boakye and Samuel Abu Jinapor. However, excerpts of an audio, based on a telephone conversation between A-Plus and ACP Addo-Danquah suggested a cover-up in the police’s report to protect the two public officials. In the said audio, the police officer was heard to have asserted in the audio that the president has good intentions but will not be able to achieve his objectives because of the people around him. She also indicated that the allegation could not be far from right per police own investigations. But ACP Addo-Danquah on Thursday issued a statement admitting it was her voice but accused A Plus of doctoring her voice in the recorded conversation to seem as though she covered up wrongdoing on the part of the two Deputy Chiefs of Staff. “He [A-Plus] mischievously picked some aspects of my voice in a later conversation I had with him when the report was released. Significantly, it is imperative to indicate that the said telephone conversation that has been doctored or edited lasted for 56 seconds. It should be clear to discerning Ghanaians that the said recordings lasted for over 5 minutes,” ACP Addo-Danquah said in her statement. Contributing to a discussion on TV3’s New Day hosted by Bright Nana Amfoh on Friday, the Deputy Communications Director of the NDC said, “anybody who has listened to the tape will struggle to believe that what was on the tape was not the CID boss voice because the chronology is so sequential”. “We need another body to investigate the CID boss”, Mr. Agbenyo stated to probably purge the CID. Mr. Agbenyo was concerned about several discredited reports by state institutions and warned, “if they [state institutions] keep on failing us every day, who can we trust to do investigation for the report will be accepted?” The Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, wants ACP Addo-Danquah investigated for misconduct. “The conduct of the CID woman is unprofessional and the police must do investigation into the conduct of the CID woman”. “This is the body that investigates corruptions in the country but if it has come out that within the body they have been compromised, then we need to investigate them”, the MP explained. The NPP legislator also advised the musician: “A-Plus needs counseling…There are avenues within the party to seek redress. He can have a very good case but he will score low marks if he chooses the wrong platform”. Nonetheless, Dr. Okoe Boye said “if the voice is true, then the processes of getting the report have been tainted and a tainted report cannot be trusted”. Meanwhile, a group has petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate the corruption allegation. By Kweku Antwi-Otoo|TV3|3news.com|Ghana  ]]>
