NDC activist to contest party’s flag-bearership after failed executive bid

A National Democratic Congress (NDC) activist, Mr Nurideen Iddrisu, who failed an executive position bid has declared his intention to contest the flagbearership race of the party.

“I have the intention to contest for the flagbearer of the great NDC when nominations are opened by the party in 2018,” Mr Iddrisu who lost the Deputy National Organizer position bid of the party in 2010 told journalists last Friday.

Mr. Iddrisu, a native of Wa in the Upper West Region said he has held consultations with elders and regional executives of the party to make known to them, his decision to lead the party into the 2020 general elections.

He indicated his move to contest the presidential candidacy of the NDC would be defective “if I do not consult the people of my own region.

He has urged members of the NDC to unite and forge ahead for victory in 2020, indicating “I wish to state without any fear of contradiction that the Executives are resolute with desirable energies in their quest to unite the ranks of the party in the region.

Mr. Iddrisu is a banker, a businessman, oil and gas consultant and a politician.

He explained his decision to lead the party is borne out of his vision to see Ghanaians empowered through education, good health and jobs.

Mr. Iddrisu intends to lead a planned and sustained investment in people and infrastructure for rapid creation of a sustainable economic development and empowered Ghanaians.
