Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has left Ghana for the United Kingdom on the advice of his doctors, a statement from the Presidency says. Dr Bawumia left Ghana on Friday in the company of his wife, Samira. The Vice President was taken ill on Friday. But the statement issued by Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei-Opare said Dr Bawumia left the UK “for medical leave”. It did not state when he will return.
