Joshua Attoh Quarshie has been critical of the NPP administration[/caption] A founding member of the United Front Party, Joshua Attoh Quarshie has urged President Akufo-Addo to seek help from the commonwealth secretariat in appointing a prosecutor to head the office of the Special Prosecutor. According to the veteran politician, it will only take a non- Ghanaian to effectively call the shot and ensure fairness in justice delivery. “If the NPP is serious about appointing a Special Prosecutor, we should ask the Commonwealth Secretariat to pick someone for us. The Special Prosecutor should not be a Ghanaian,” Joshua Attoh Quarshie said. Joshua Attoh Quarshie who was speaking in an interview on TV3 New Day said although the establishment of the office of the special prosecutor is a step in the right direction, failure to appoint a neutral person to head the office will render the fight against corruption non effective. “A non-Ghanaian will be more effective as a Special Prosecutor. He can control the commission more effectively. The Ghanaian’s brother-in-law, cousin, can come and turn white into black,” he noted. Sharing his observations on the Akufo-Addo-led administration so far, Joshua Attoh Quarshie said things are worse under the NPP administration. “Let’s not deceive ourselves; there is nothing for us to depend on. Nana Akufo-Addo has not achieved anything, even the Free SHS policy is not moving smoothly.” He further said, there is nothing new being added to the country as purported by the NPP. He added that Nana Akufo-Addo has surrounded himself with people who only praise him and do not criticize him when he is heading to the wrong direction. “Ghana is just like sea water, it is not flowing. There is nothing new happening under the Nana Akufo-Addo-led administration.” He also charged the president to do something that Ghanaians can pinpoint as an achievement by his government.
