Nigerian President, Mahammadu Buhari has stated that he is willing to collaborate with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo towards the fight against corruption. “Your Excellency can be assured that you have a good partner in me as I look forward to any form of collaboration between Nigeria and Ghana in tackling the menace of endemic corruption,” President Buhari said. President Buhari who was speaking at the 61st Independence Parade in Ghana commended President Akufo-Addo for his fight against corruption. “My tribute to you and the people of Ghana will not be complete without acknowledging your efforts at tackling corruption which has eaten into our societies.” The Nigerian President further congratulated the government of Ghana for setting up the Office of the Special Prosecutor. “I congratulate both the Government and the Parliament for passing the Office of the Special Prosecutor Act and its signing into law.” He further commended the President Akufo-Addo for his achievements over the past year in office. “May I extend my personal congratulations to President Akufo-Addo for the strides recorded by your administration using a space of just 365 days. All these efforts have made Ghana a good destination for foreign investment just like Nigeria, accept my congratulations.” President Buhari also called for more collaborative efforts between Ghana and Nigeria towards the development of both countries.
