Two armed robbers arrested in crossfire with Police, one shot in the thigh

Two more persons believed to be a part of the gang that robbed a motor dealership company in Accra were Monday night caught up in crossfire with the Police as they attempted an escape in the Eastern Region. Dormenyo Alfred and Felix Andy were driving a Toyota highlander on the Akim Asanteman – Akim Aprokumase road near Akim Asuboa when they were spotted by the Police. They attempted to escape but were pursued by the police personnel from the Oda Divisional Command leading to a shootout. Dormenyo was shot in the right thigh. Andy on the other hand has been placed in custody at the Oda Police station. Their vehicle, registered GR 8001-18 has been impounded. Police found on them one flat screen TV and other personal effects. Confirming the arrest to TV3, Eastern Regional Police PRO, Ebenezer Tetteh said after the arrest, the Police discovered that the suspects were wanted for their possible involvement in the robbery situation at Royal Motors  in Accra. “Police in Accra have been informed already for their collection,” he said.
