Prez Akufo – Addo joins Commonwealth Heads of Gov’t to address shared global challenges

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo left Ghana Saturday, April 14, to attend the 25th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. The meeting is scheduled to take place in London, United Kingdom, from Monday, April 16 to Friday, April 20, on the theme “Towards a Common Future”. A statement signed by Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, indicates the weeklong meeting will afford Heads of Government in the Commonwealth the opportunity to “address the shared global challenges we face, and agree actions on how to create a better future for all”. “On the side-lines of the Summit, President Akufo-Addo will hold meetings with British Foreign Secretary, Rt. Hon. Boris Johnson; leader of the Labour Party and leader of the Opposition, Jeremy Corbyn; Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan; and the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William”, the statement added. As contained in the statement, the president will among other things also deliver keynote addresses at the UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce Investment Summit and the London School of Economics’ Africa Summit. He was accompanied by the First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo; Minister for  Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, MP; Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen; Minster for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Otiko Afisa Djaba; Minister for Business Development, Awal Mohammed; and officials from the Presidency and Foreign Ministry.
