Mahdi Gibrill targets NDC National Organizer post

Mahdi Mohammed Gibrill

Mahdi Mohammed Gibrill, Deputy National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress, largest opposition party in Ghana, has made his intention to go for the Organizer position public.

Declaring his intention in a statement, Mahdi Gibrill said the decision has largely been influenced by calls from the rank and file of the party to go for the post currently held by Kofi Adams.

“By this statement, I will wish to humbly declare my intention to contest for the position of a National Organizer when nominations are opened,” he said after doing what he calls an extensive consultation.

According to him, it has become “nonnegotiable need” for the NDC to recapture power from the “ailing hands of the Akufo-Addo Government”, and the party therefore cannot gamble with who becomes its National Organizer going into the 2020 general elections.

“What the party needs is an Organizer who does not only have the commitment, the wit and the mettle to mobilize an efficient election winning machinery, but also possess the experience to deliver political victory with efficiency,” he summarised the qualities the NDC needed for that position.

Relying strongly on his past experiences in the various capacities he served in the party, Mahdi Gibrill declared, “I possess that efficient pair of hands required in the mix to deliver a resounding victory.”

He cautioned the NDC that although winning 2020 is possible, it is  conditioned on commitment and hard work.

“In line with our collective resolve to efficiently re-organize our party to recapture power as speedily as possible, I offer myself to serve you in this bid.”
