Ms. Auguster Asantewa Boateng, founder of The Butterfly Effect, a nonprofit and human right advocacy group, has been awarded for her outstanding role in promoting education among the marginalised in Ghana as part of efforts towards achieving the UN sustainable development goal.
At the 4th Feminine Ghana Achievement Award in Accra Friday, Ms. Boateng received the “Most Outstanding Female Personality in Education” award.
Through The Butterfly Effect, she has been using effective and sustainable strategies to promote and protect the right of the African child and youth by focusing on their health, education and empowerment.
Ms. Boateng hopes to create an environment that support children and youth, increase educational and health opportunities through viable social schemes and an informed knowledge that contribute to a higher standard of living.
The award, instituted by the Business Executive Magazine, seeks to identify, publicly recognize and reward women in various field of endeavours whose personal and professional conduct have been exemplary and outstanding.
Ultimately, the award exist to create a pool of role models who serve to set new and higher standards of accomplished women in Ghana to inspire others to emulate their professional achievement.
Other recipients at the fourth awards night were MD/CEO of UBA Ghana Madam Abiola Baruwah; Basiwa Dowuona Hammond of GH One TV; CEO of Saham Insurance, Mrs. Gifty Ama Fiagbe and Oheneyere Gifty Anti of GDA Concepts.

Ms. Boateng who is a social entrepreneur-cum-journalist expressed gratitude to the organisers for the honour done her by appreciating her works.
“I am so happy and grateful to God and to the organisers and most especially, to my team, family and well-wishers for having faith in me and honouring me with this award. This means a lot to me and this is a clear testimony that hard work is rewarding,” she said.
She dedicated the award to “every female, to that rural girl and that teen mother. Women are here and we are here to stay… to press for progress”
CEO of the Business Executive Magazine, Ms. Paulette Kporo, said the idea is to encourage women to take key roles in national development.
“Women have huge roles to play in achieving our collective national aspirations and it is time for us to step up to the plate” she said.
