The National Democratic Congress (NDC), says it will comply with the outcome of the bill which seeks to change the election date because it will not affect its political fortunes.
The New Patriotic Party on the other hand argues that, even though the new date is good, the Electoral Commission has failed to resolve some key issues that will enable a smooth run of the elections. The NPP insists that the EC is not ready for the elections.
A public forum was organized on Monday, July 11, 2016 by the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs committee of Parliament. It sought to solicit the input of the public on the new legislation to change the election date. This is the constitutional Amendment bill 2016.
The questions now are: Is the EC ready for the elections? Should the NPP continue to cry foul instead of helping the EC? Are you ready to vote in November? Join Winston Amoah on the Sunrise morning show on 3FM, 92.7 and let’s get interactive as we speak to the stakeholders involved.
