Waste segregation would solve sanitation problems – Adentan MCE

The Chief Executive for the Adentan Municipal Assembly, Nii Noi Adumuah, has proposed waste segregation as part of the waste management solution to residents of the SSNIT Estates within his municipality to enhance the sanitation situation. The MCE made these comments while addressing residents at a meeting on Sunday. Nii Noi Adumuah noted that separated organic waste can feed the recycling plant at Nmai Dzor, barely 5 kilometres from the Adentan area to produce compost. He encouraged residents to duly and diligently pay their property rates, and charged the tenants among them to ensure that their landlords pay their properties to prevent any action from city authorities that could affect them. According to the MCE, the Assembly will continue to engage the residents in its processes in finding lasting solutions to seemingly protracted and perennial problems. This, according to the local authority, will be facilitated by the provision of services to ensure that the standard of living in the community is continually raised. The MCE also reminded the gathering of the efforts made over the previous years to provide street lights to improve security in the area. In answering a question on the streetlights levy seen on ECG bills, Nii Noi Adumuah stated that the assemblies do not receive any money from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
