GMB2017: Baaba scores hat trick to end Adom’s award record

With her best foot forward, Baaba from the Central Region gave off her best performance ever at this year’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful television pageant by scoring a hat trick on Sunday.

Baaba who performed as a radio show guest on Accra-based Onua FM, and analysed Ghana’s media vis-à-vis religion, was adjudged the star performer for the night. She was hosted by Nhyiraba Aggrey

She beat competition from the five remaining contestants in the competition to win the Best Costume award for the night and was also adjudged the Most Disciplined contestant for the week.

Serwaa from the Eastern Region grabbed the Most Eloquent contestant award for her delivery on the issue of how the media is impacting on marriages and relationships in the country. She was hosted by Loveridge Animonyam Okyere on Asetena Pa on Takoradi-based Connect FM.

Exhibiting her depth of knowledge on the subject, Serwaa delivered her presentation effortlessly and created her own theory which she proposed everyone uses to safeguard their relationship.

The theory which she termed as LLimit the time you spend on media, CComparison of relationship, SSet your own goals and guidelines, M- Manage your own emotions and actions, and M, was obviously the wow factor.

Meanwhile, Brong Ahafo’s Adom, for the first time in the last three weeks, failed to get her name in the award books.Appearing on 3FM’s Late Edition show hosted by Alfred Ocansey, as a political activist aspiring to become the first female president of Ghana, Adom discussed Ghana’s media in relation to women in politics. Though the judges marked her performance and content as good, it could not push her to grab an award this week.Zeinab from the Northern Region, was hosted by TV3’s Solace Rose-Quartey on the Chat room segment on New Day to discuss social media and its impact.Edem from the Volta Region who was hosted on Onua FM’s Yen Sempa show by Bright Kwesi Asempa, could not bring out the wow factor in her performance to get good comments from the judges. The judges described her performance which was on media and censorship as shaky and lacking the flair of a radio presentation.Playing the role of a celebrity, Nana from the Western Region was invited to discuss celebrity scandals and the media the Easy Talk segment of Easy Stream hosted by MC Bobby on 3FM.
