Vehem Mawunyo International School in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region has been declared the best school at the 2018 John Gatsi Educational Foundation Awards The ceremony was held at Dzodze E.P. Primary School on Friday and chaired by Mr. Freeman Gobah, the Country Director of Pencils of Promise Ghana. Prof. John Gatsi, who initiated the awards scheme, charged educational stakeholders in the municipality to take critical interest in the study habits of the basic school pupils. [caption id="attachment_77847" align="aligncenter" width="960"] Prof. Gatsi presenting an award[/caption] He remarked that education remains the tool that equips the youth with critical thinking skills needed in the country to solve its many problems. He therefore asked stakeholders to ensure that quality education does not elude all pupils at the basic level of education in Ghana. Chairman for occasion, Mr Freeman Gobah encouraged the John Gatsi Foundation to keep up the good work of creating competitive spirit among pupils and the schools. He also supported the overall best female student, Kumah Delali Evelyn of Vehem Mawunyo International School with a prize package. The Municipal Director of Education, Esi Ashiagbor, pledged her continuous support to the Foundation for improved performance in educational outcomes in the Municipality.
