The Electoral Commission has deleted from Ghana's voter's register, the names of over 56,000 people who used National Health Insurance cards as proof of identity to register to vote in the 2012 general elections
It followed a Supreme Court order to the EC after the court declared the use of NHIS card for registration as invalid.
The affected persons will have a 10-day period beginning Monday, July 18 to re-register using other valid national identity card.
