Solar companies ready for gov’t partnership in solar power generation

The Chief Executive Officer  of Strategic Power Solutions (SPS), manufacturers of solar PV module in West  Africa, Ofori Boateng  says solar companies in Ghana are ready and equipped to partner government meet its proposed solar energy goals. His comments follow  statements made by President Akufo-Addo at an International Solar Alliance (ISA) Summit where he expressed government’s commitment  to increase solar power in Ghana’s energy mix. Mr Boateng stated that  “solar companies in Ghana are more  than ready and well equipped to help government increase the contribution of Solar in  the Power Mix from the current 1% as stated by President Nana Akuffo Addo.” “As the first Solar PV manufacturers in the country we know the challenges that our industry faces, and we are grateful that President Nana Akufo-Addo has reiterated his commitment to building the domestic capacity in the manufacturing and assembling of solar energy systems in the country,” he added. It is the assertion of Mr. Boateng that all the initiatives proposed by the president with respect to solar power generation in the country can be achieved through strategic private sector partnerships and he believes his outfit is up to task and ready to partner government. “As the first and largest manufacturers  of Solar PV Systems within West Africa and distributors of solar accessories for over 10 years, SPS is willing to work with the Government in meeting all of its goals,” he said.
