FDA to ban alcoholic inclined songs – PRO

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) says it will consider placing a ban on songs that urges people to patronize alcoholic beverages in the country. Meanwhile, the FDA has reminded the media, advertisers, manufacturers and importers of alcoholic beverages that advertisements of alcoholic products are supposed to be aired only from 8pm to 6am. “Additionally, kindly be informed that all advertisements of FDA regulated products that would be approved by the FDA from January 1, 2018, are supposed to include the phrase, ‘this advert has been vetted and approved by the FDA’,” the FDA had said in statement on Friday. Speaking in an interview on 3FM’s Sunrise hosted by Winston Amoah on Monday, the Head of Communications and Public Education at the FDA, James Lartey, said the FDA will consider banning songs that encourages alcohol consumption. “You mean songs like yebo dada?
