Brazil sailed through to the knock-out round of the ongoing FIFA World Cup after a 2-0 win over Serbia in their final Group E game on Wednesday.
Two goals in either half of the game in Moscow saw Brazil win the group with seven points.
They are joined by Switzerland, who were held 2-2 by Costa Rica, in the other final group game.
Going into the game, Brazil needed a win to avoid any upsets which have characterized the tournament. Already, holders Germany have been sent home.
But Paulinho opened the scoring in the 36th minute to give the Selecao some relief.
Thiago Silva’s goal in the 68th minute gave the five-time champions the cushion they needed as they cruised to the last 16.
They will face Mexico next.
