Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agymenag has officially joined Bursaspor in the Turkish top fight.
The 26-year-old completed the switch on Thursday after passing the medical and told the media he was delighted to be taking up a new opportunity.
Badu has spent his entire European career in Italy until now and says the decision to join Bursaspor has been one of the difficult he has had to make.
Badu admits he was offered a deal by Birmingham City after meeting Harry Redknapp, who has revealed his disappointment at his failure to land the Ghanaian.
Redknapp had hoped the former Kotoko star will choose the English Championship side and claims Badu gave him his word before turning his back on a proposed move.
The Englishman watched Badu in action against Huddesfield Town in a friendly game and was convinced he had a deal locked down.
“I drove to Huddersfield to watch him play. It took me six-and-a-half hours to get to Huddersfield. I got there, missed the first 20 minutes. But anyway, I met him after. I spoke to him for two days. He gave me his word on the phone that he was definitely (coming). ‘I want to play for you coach, I promise you…’” he gave me his word.
“I wake up next morning, I thought that’s great I’ve got him, he’s a real good player this boy. His value is £6 million. We were going to loan him for the year. I wake up next morning, he’s signed for a Turkish club,” Redknapp said.
Badu will begin training immediately with Bursaspor ahead of the start of the Turkish season next weekend.
