Appointment of 3 constituency executives angers Chiana-Paga NPP youth

Irate youth of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Chiana-Paga Constituency of the Upper East Region have rejected the appointments of three constituency executives as district coordinators for three governmental organisations.

The youth in a press conference in Mirigu in the constituency, said Constituency Organizer Mark Ayamga, Youth Organizer Sylvester Atule and Deputy Youth Organizer Thomas Kwalase have not been loyal to the agenda of the party and claimed their attitude contributed to the loss of the party in the 2016 parliamentary election.

The youth alleged the three constituency executives did not show enough commitment and loyalty to the party prior the 2016 general elections and that resulted in the party losing the seat to NDC’s Rudolf Ameng-Etego.

Spokesperson Daniel Namooh said Mr Atule openly campaigned the current MP, because he is his brother.

The youth further alleged that the three executives have a record of financial mismanagement thus they cannot be trusted with such sensitive positions.

A member of the irate youth, Boya Musah, reiterated the need for loyal members to be appointed to these positions at NADMO, YEA and MASLOC instead of the three.

She said several complaints were reported to headquarters in Accra prior to the general elections on the conduct of the three constituency executives, “so it is quite surprising the turn of events”.

The group said if the plea is not given any consideration, they will follow all the available channels of the party to get things done the right way.
