Striker of Aduana Stars Nathaniel Asamoah has said that the team has received certain prizes from their life patron Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II, the Paramount Chief of Dormaa Traditional Area.
Few weeks ago, Aduana Stars won the 2016/2017 season of the Ghana Premier League.
The team last Sunday played against Berekum Chelsea in a coronation game, which they won by 2-1.
Bright Agyei and Derrick Sassraku scored for the champions with Stephen Baffoe scoring the consolation for Berekum Chelsea.
George Afriyie, the Vice President of Ghana Football Association, presented the trophy and cash prize to the champions on home soil after the game.
The colourful event attracted people from all walks of life, including politicians, traditional rulers and football administrators.
Speaking with Onua FM’s Oteng Apau Pappin, Nathaniel Asamoah said – in local language – “Nana gave the playing body and the technical team Samsung LED TV 32’, GH¢100,000 cash prize to be shared among the playing body and a plot of land to each player”.
The former Asante Kotoko player added that their target is to play in the Caf Champions League and make an impact
“Africa is the target now and reaching the group stage of the competition is paramount”.
Aduana Stars last won the League in the 2009/2010 season.
