Media General commiserates with Multimedia Group on the unfortunate passing of KABA

Kwadwo Asare-Baffour Acheampong[/caption] The Media General, owners and operators of TV3, 3FM 92.7MHz, Onua FM 95.1MHz, Connect FM 97.1MHz,  Akoma FM 87.9FM and MG Digital Ltd (3news.com), has extended its condolences to the Multimedia Media Group for the loss of ace broadcaster and host of Ekosii sen programme  – Kwadwo Asare-Baffour Acheampong. The sad incident which occurred on Saturday 18th November has thrown the entire nation into a state of shock and disbelief. In a statement signed by the company’s Group Head of Corporate Affairs, Richard Ahiagble, Media General eulogised the departed broadcaster popularly known as KABA for his commitment, balanced position on issues and his professionalism that endeared him to the heart of listeners across the country. The statement also extended the Group’s commiserations to the family of the deceased ace broadcaster. Below is the full statement by Media General to the Multimedia Group Media General, the parent company of TV3, 3FM 92.7MHz, Onua FM 95.1MHz, Connect FM 97.1MHz,  Akoma FM 87.9FM and MG Digital Ltd, has learnt with deep regrets the passing of our dear colleague and host of the Eko sii sen programme on Asempa FM, Kwadwo Asare-Baffour Acheampong affectionately called KABA. His sudden passing is a tragic loss, not only to the Multimedia Group, but to the entire media fraternity and the country as a whole. On behalf of the Board, Management and employees of Media General, we offer our deepest condolences to the Multimedia Group. Our heartfelt commiserations also go to the bereaved family, especially his wife, Valentina Ofori Afriyie and little daughter, Nana Yaa for their irreplaceable loss. We join the Ghana Journalists Association and the entire nation to commiserate and pray that the Almighty God consoles and strengthen them at this challenging moment. KABA was an astute broadcaster who consistently displayed a high level of professionalism  – offering a balanced and unbiased position on issues. He was professional with his guests in a way that endeared him to the hearts of listeners. His deep appreciation of issues and his commitment to the cause of responsible journalism must be celebrated by all.
