The campaign vehicle of Abdul Abukari Fatawu, the parliamentary nominee of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) for the Kumbungu Constituency, has killed three persons in an accident in Bunjai, a suburb of Salaga, in the East Gonja District of the Northern Region.
The vehicle, according to an eye witness, had offloaded chairs ahead of a rally Wednesday, October 5in the Bunjai community, and was returning to Salaga when three persons, a woman and two men, on a motorbike rammed into the vehicle.
The East Gonja District Police Commander, DSP Amenu, confirmed the incident.
He said that the bodies have been released to their families to be buried according to Islam.
Meanwhile, DSP Amenu revealed to TV3 that the police were not informed about the upcoming rally thus they had no idea of it.
